Roth Staffing is hiring for a remote Human Resources Specialist to support the day-to-day administration of Human Resources programs and processes, with a strong focus on leave administration, compliance, HR operations, and benefits support. Working closely with the Director of Human Resources, the HR Specialist role serves as a trusted resources for our coworkers and the temporary/contract employees we place on assignment with our customers – our Ambassadors, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining compliance with company policies and employment laws.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and related state and local leave programs, from intake through return-to-work.
  • Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for coworkers and Ambassadors, answering questions and resolving issues with accuracy and discretion.
  • Support HR compliance by staying current on federal, state, and local employment and leave laws and ensuring company practices align with them.
  • Assist with benefits administration and reporting, including enrollment support, reconciliation, and responding to employee questions.
  • Support core HR operations across the employee life cycle — onboarding, status changes, recordkeeping, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate HR data and use HR technology (including UKG) to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and the overall employee experience.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, remote HR environment while maintaining a high level of discretion and attention to detail.

What Do We Look For?

  • Candidates located in any U.S. state other than AK, HI, ND, ME, WY, VT, and SD with a strong preference for an individual located in the central time zone.
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through skills.
  • Experience with administering leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and related programs.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local leave and employment laws.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources functions, including benefits reporting, HR compliance, and employee life cycle management.
  • An individual with a strong aptitude for leveraging HR technology to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3+ years of HR experience.
  • Experience with UKG and Workforce Management preferred.
  • Knowledge of staffing industry personnel practices.
